Career Choices After Class 10.

Science
The subjects studied in this course are Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer along with English and a vernacular language, depending on the board and medium you opt for. In case you want to pursue engineering, you would not have to study Biology. For medical stream, you may opt out of Mathematics.
In India, Science happens to be the most sought after course as it offers several rewarding opportunities in career ahead. Another advantage that the Science courses offer is that they allow students to switch over to Arts or Commerce streams later in their careers. The same switch will not be possible if you go ahead with Arts/Commerce streams at this stage. Hence, you need to explore your interest areas before making a final decision.

Commerce
This is another of the favourite options for students in India, especially for those intending to join business. Anyone with an interest in accounts and finances may opt for commerce. The career opportunities are immense after you enrol for professional courses like B.Com, BBA, BMS, ICWA, etc.
The subjects one has to take include economics, accounts, business study and business law.
Compulsory language subject(s) is(are) also there.

Arts/Humanities
One of the least preferred career choices till a few years back, this stream is now gaining in popularity and is preferred by a number of students. This stream offers a number of exciting career options that are equally rewarding and fulfilling as science and commerce streams.
Mass media, journalism, literature and social service are a few of the career choices that people opt for. There are a variety of subjects to choose from including history, geography, sociology, psychology, literature, etc.
There are other options to go for as well and it is upto the students to make a choice based on what they want in their career ahead. Even if you make a choice that you want to change later, you get another shot at it after your class 12. So, do not get worked up too much if  you think you have not made the right choice for yourself after class 10.
